Alfred Bamford Leaf aka A. Bamford (1841 - April 4, 1871) was a capable female impersonator who was prominent at one time at Hooley's Minstrels in Brooklyn, and also played a European engagement in the 1860's. Bamford also did specialties with Harry Norman. He was generally styled the Ethiopian minstrel or "The Wonderful Bamford" on the theatre programmes. He possessed a remarkable voice; a stranger, hearing him sing, would never imagine the voice was not a lady's, were he hidden from view.

He died at San Francisco County Hospital on April 4, 1871, aged 30.
