Queer Places:
Santa Clara Mission Cemetery Santa Clara, Santa Clara County, California, USA

Caricamento di un’immagine più grande di pagina commemorativa...Alfredo Gonzalez (November 24, 1926 – March 10, 2000) was a member of the Latino Caucus of ACT UP/NY who helped create ACT UP-Americas in 1991, an open-membership committee dedicated to AIDS activism across the hemisphere. Gonzalez helped publish the Boletin de ACT UP Americas, a Spanish-language newsletter offering HIV-related scientific, social, and political news to inspire new political strategies to confront the epidemic. He was the music director for a world reknown Sweet Adelines singing group in San Jose. He travelled all over the world with them.

In his final years, his brother, Gilbert and sister-in-law, Rita, took outstanding care of him as his life drew to a close. Sadly, he died of AIDS. He was buried with his mother, Carolina "Caro" Gutierrez de Gonzalez. The headstone was put on at the time of his death. Previously, the grave was simply the granite top section.
