Clement Brace (January 6, 1916 – November 3, 1996) was born in Syracuse, NY, and had had a stab at an acting career in his youth. He was in the good graces of his wealthy family, and he lived very well.
According to music journalist Phil Milstein, at the time of his death John Dall had lapsed into alcoholism and was living with his partner, actor Clement Brace. Dall sustained a serious fall while visiting London in October 1970, and died of cardiac arrest, a complication of myocarditis, at his home at 1617 Tower Grove Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210, on January 15, 1971, aged 50.
After Dall Brace lived with Dion McGregor (1922–1994). McGregor and Brace lived a quiet and graceful life in Beverly Hills, but in the late '80s they moved to southwestern Oregon, near Ashland, where they'd enjoyed annual outings to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
In 1990 McGregor suffered what he called a "very serious heart failure," from which he never fully recovered. A year later, Brace fell during a morning walk and broke his neck, confining him permanently to a wheelchair. On December 29, 1994, in a Medford, Oregon hospital, Dion McGregor died. On November 3, 1996, he was joined again by his partner Clement Brace.
