He completed high school and university in San Jose returning to train as a teacher at the Vancouver Normal School. Over the years, he taught at many schools including in Kenya, South Africa but ended his teaching career in the lower mainland at Sir Charles Tupper and Princess Margaret. A very dear friend, Daryl was an inspiring teacher and an exceptional artist.

Daryl Mutz passed away on January 27, 2014.
