David Sawn (1925 - December 22, 1993) was an acting teacher, director, and playwright. He founded and ran the Off Broadway acting studio, Dramarena. He died at 68 years old due to AIDS.
He was active on the New York theater scene from the 1940s to the 1970s.
In the 1950s, he opened his own Off Broadway acting studio, Dramarena, producing original and contemporary plays.
He also operated a summer theater in Wind Gap, Pa., and the Towers Summer-Dinner Theatre in Cedar Grove, N.J.
Sawn was the author of “A Child Went Forth” and other plays.
