George Mansour (born March 23, 1934) was a Film booker. In 1953, 19 years old George Mansour was at a party in Bay Village where he met a sailor. The two went up to a bedroom, but they were soon interrupted by a squad of Boston policeman. Mansour and three other men were convicted of lewd and lascivious conduct and were given 6 months suspended sentences and 2 years of probation. The owner of the house went to jail for 9 months. Though his parents were supportive, Mansour's life was greatly affected by the arrest. He lost any chance of going to college and his employment possibilities were strongly limited. 4 years later he met his lover of 44 years in the Harvard Square subway bathroom and still went cruising when he was in his 80s. Mansour became a film booker and went on to found the Boston Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
