Related imageTalented area musicians Lucy J. Rhinehart (1921-2014) and Helen M. Montgomery (April 22, 1923 – October 31, 2005) were known locally in the 1960s and 1970s as The Lu Wows. They passed as sisters, performing at local hotels, restaurants, and clubs. They met in St. Louis after they both returned from serving in the military during WWII. They celebrated 55 years together as a couple. When Montgomer died in 2005 she was buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery and her tombstone reads S. Sgt. US Army World War II, We Will Always Be Together. When Rhinehart died in 2014 she was buried at Memorial Park Cemetery (5200 Lucas and Hunt Rd, St. Louis, MO 63121) and her obituary said she was preceded in death by a special friend, Helen M. Montgomery
