Hyacinthe Deane (1867–1903) worked as an inspector of domestic science and was one of the first women inspectors in the Department of Education. She was appointed in 1897 in succession to Miss Harrison, resigned on her marriage. Hyacinthe Dean was the sister of Lucy Deane, who was appointed Factory Inspector in 1895.
