Jorge Silvetti (born January 5, 1942) is an American architect and educator, the recipient of the 1st award in architect American Academy and Institute Arts and Letters in 1991. He is also 8 time winner of the Progressive Architect awards Progressive Architect Magazine, 1976-1991.

Silvetti was born on January 5, 1942 in Buenos Aires, the son of Samuel Lareano Silvetti and Catalina Rosa (Malanca) Silvetti. He came to the United States in 1967. He is the son of Samuel Lareano and Catalina Rosa (Malanca) Silvetti.

He has a degree in music theory and practice and was a consultant for Musica Buenos Aires in 1958. He obtained a diploma in architect at University Buenos Aires in 1966, and a Master of Architecture at University California, Berkeley in 1969. He has also an honorary Master of Fine Arts from Harvard University in 1983.

Silvetti was an Associate in architect at University California, Berkeley, from 1969 to 1973. He was Assistant professor of architect at Carnegie-Mellon University, Pittsburgh, from 1973 to 1975. He was Assistant professor of architect at Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA, from 1975 to 1978, associate professor, from 1978 to 1983, and professor from 1983 to 1990. He is director of Master of Architecture, degree programs, since 1985, Nelson Robinson Junior professor architect, since 1990, chairman of the department of architect, since 1995.

Silvetti was a Principal of Machado and Silvetti, Boston, from 1974 to 1985, and of Machado and Silvetti Associates, Boston, since 1985.

Silvetti is a Member of the jury of the Pritzker Prize for Architect, since 1996. He is a member of the jury of the Mies van der Rohe Award for Latin America Architect, since 2000.

Silvetti is a Fellow of American Academy Rome. He is a Member of American Institute of Architects (associate, National Honor award 1993, 98, awards of excellence 1983, 87, 88), D. Rockefeller Center for Latin America Studies (executive committee), Society Central Arquitectos Argentina, and Century Association New York.
