Leonard Sanazaro (October 29, 1949 - February 9, 2004) was a truly gifted poet whose works appeared widely in literary publications throughout the country.
He was born on October 29, 1949, in Chicago, IL. He obtained a Bachelor, Lewis University, 1971, and a Master of Arts, University Nevada, 1979.
He was a consummate, dedicated English teacher at City College of San Francisco where he taught poetry, the classics, and composition. He was known for his excellence in teaching, high standards, and commitment to helping his students reach their highest potential. He had a brilliant intellect, a great wit and sense of humor, and exceptional courage. He loved the arts and nature.
Sanazaro lived in San Francisco with his companion Willian Dickey, a poet and professor of English and creative writing at San Francisco State University.
He died on February 9, 2004, in San Francisco.
