Lois Eileen Bierkortte (April 12, 1921 - December 31, 2009) and Mary Anne Evans (March 19, 1931 - April 1980) are both buried at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, Ohio County, West Virginia, USA.
Lois Eileen Bierkortte was born April 12, 1931, in Wheeling, a daughter of the late Henry A. and Eva Mary Weitzel Bierkortte.
She was a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph Academy, Wheeling, a former employee of the Hillsboro Ohio Gas Company, and a former member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry.
Mary Anne Evans, died in 1980, aged 49. She was a lesbian, although the word was never used in her family. She and her life partner, Lois, lived together in a small house on Third Street in Marietta.
Lois died on New Year's Eve fo 2009 in an assisted living facility in Wheeling. On her obituary online from The Wheeling News-Register there was no mention Mary Anne preceding her in death.
ThThey are buried in the same cemetery, but not together.
