Mary Lucy Hall (November 22, 1829 - August 3, 1885) co-authored Lucretia Crocker's first book Our World: Or First Lessons in Geography, for Children (1864). Hall and Crocker are now buried together.[4]
Mary Lucy Hall was born at Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee. She was a former pupil of Crocker and Our World is a textbook embodying at the time recent advances in the study of geography. In June 1853 Hall was appointed at the State Normal School at Framingham and resigned in November 1853. In 1879 Hall was the secretary of the Industrial School for Girls in Centre Street, Dorchester.
