Partner Donald C. Knutson

Peter J. Bateman (May 10, 1931 - May 24, 1985) was born May 10, 1931, in Warwick, England, and moved to San Francisco in 1977, where he lived until 1983. He was very active in supporting National Gay Rights Advocates and its executive director, Donald C. Knutson, who was Peter's longtime companion.

He will be remembered as well for the beautiful gardens he created. He was active with the Terrance Higgens Trust of London, an AIDS organization which provided him loving care.

Peter J. Bateman died May 24, 1985, in London, England, of AIDS.
