Robert Arthur (June 18, 1925 - October 1, 2008) was an American actor. Since the late 1970s he has headed the California-based Project Rainbow organization to help aid Gay senior citizens. He never married, but dated actresses Jane Russell, Rhonda Fleming, Jan Sterling, Jane Greer, Ava Gardner and Zsa Zsa Gabor.

Robert Arthur was born on June 18, 1925 in Aberdeen, Washington, the son of Edward Paul Arthaud (1899–1987) and Gertrude Bertha Sather Arthaud (1902–1995). He graduated from Aberdeen High School in 1943. He attended the University of Washington and was in the U.S. Navy training program. He won a high school radio announcing contest and later became a professional announcer and disc jockey before embarking on his film career. Baby-faced support actor, he portrayed earnest collegiate and rookie types in military films, melodrama and film noir of the 1950s. After his first notable movie performance in the 1948 picture "Green Grass of Wyoming", he had notable roles in the films "Yellow Sky" (1948), "Twelve O'Clock High" (1949), "September Affair" (1950), "Air Cadet" (1951), "Ace in the Hole" (1951), "The Ring" (1952), "Take the High Ground!" (1953), "Top of the World" (1955) and "Hellcats of the Navy" (1957). His television program credits include "The Lone Ranger", "Four Star Playhouse" and "Gomer Pyle, USMC". He quit acting in the 1960s and eventually became an insurance salesman. He was a drama coach and also ran a small theatre group in Los Angeles at one time.

He died on October 1, 2008 in Aberdeen, Washington, USA.
